How did the forum originate?
The Visitor Experience Forum was started in 2016 by a small group of passionate visitor experience professionals wanting to share ideas, knowledge, and experiences freely to others.
In a short time, the VE:Forum has gained momentum linking individuals working in visitor/guest experience management positions to share best practices and become more connected within the industry. The forum has gone from strength to strength with 500+ members representing, 250 organisations, 110 Associate Members and have hosted 37 events both in the UK and Internationally.
This forum is run by volunteers from all over the UK keen to share experiences and best practises with others.

What types of VE:Forum memberships are available, and what are the fees?
We have two types of membership;
1. VEF Members, these are people who work in the visitor experience space and
2. Associate Members, individuals who work for suppliers, contractors, and freelancers within the visitor experience space.
The great things about our memberships that it is all FREE.

Are there any criteria for joining the Visitor Experience Forum membership?
Membership of the VE:Forum is FREE and open to anybody working in a Visitor Experiences management or leadership role, whether from a charity or a publicly-funded organisation, or a commercial operation.
Individuals joining the forum will need to have one of the following Leadership Titles. CEO, Head, Manager, Assistant Manager, Executive, Director, Chief, Lead & Officer.
We welcome professionals from all sectors as we believe that by sharing ideas, experiences, best practices, and stories of the good and the not-so-good outcomes of a project, all members can benefit.

EVENTS
Are the VE:Events suitable for people with physical disabilities to attend?
Our goal is to ensure that all of our on-site events are accessible to everyone. If a venue is not accessible due to its location or structure, we will make a note of it during booking. The VE:Seminar will always have designated wheelchair spaces, but these are limited. Therefore, please reach out to us to check for availability.

Are there food and drinks available at the event?
Yes, most of our events are pay as you go on alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages provided by the host location. Most venues do not have hot food, but there are snacks available. We do have events where the forum will provide drinks and snacks courtesy of our sponsors. This will be highlighted on the booking confirmation.

I am a bit nervous about meeting new people.
Don't worry; the Co-founders will be at the events and would be happy to introduce you to other members. We do have regular members who will also make you feel welcome at the events. Our community is very friendly, warm, and welcoming, so there should not be any problems fitting in.

Is selling of products and services allowed at the event?
It is strictly forbidden to sell products and services at any of our events as the Visitor Experience Forum aims to share information, best practises, and develop individuals. There is an opportunity for associate members to sell and highlight products and services. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in doing so. All unauthorised posts selling products and services on our social media channels will be removed.

If I am a contractor or freelancer, can I still attend the events.
As contractors and freelancers fall under the associate membership, there will be some events that you may not be able to attend, but we will highlight this on the bookings.

What is the best way to communicate with members outside events?
There are several different ways. You can join our LinkedIn group, Twitter, and Instagram social media sites, links can be found at the bottom of the page. We post many of our up-to-date information on our LinkedIn group and have some good discussions on there. This is also a great place to meet other members and network outside VE:Events.
